About E4m

E4m was created by a group of like-minded thinkers who recognized that the municipal sector in Rural and Rural Northern Ontario is underserviced with respect to affordable and effective training and municipally related services. The group also recognized that small municipalities at times, lack the capacity (human and financial) to keep current with legislative changes and governance best practices.  Additionally, they were concerned that the sector was going to experience a “brain drain” over the next few years as a number of long-serving employees retire and the pool to replace them is very small.

At E4m we want to support the sector to move from a “we’ve always done it this way” mindset to a “how can we reinvent ourselves to be more resilient and sustainable”.

Since its launch on July 13, 2017, 106 municipalities in Ontario (24% of municipalities) have accessed a service provided by or participated in an event hosted by E4m.

E4m is a non-profit-corporation operated by a Board of Directors.  We have no employees, so our services are carried out by applying the skills and expertise of the individuals in our network of municipal professionals with the need of the municipal client.  We often use a team approach so we can capitalize on the experience and skill of those in our network.  Each member of our network has a passion and commitment to providing small municipalities with affordable professional services.
